Convenience and savings with EETS

The hauler company INDEKA was set up in 1990 and specializes in international transport. It has been a DKV Mobility customer for over 20 years. All of INDEKA’s 300 trucks are equipped with DKV BOX EUROPE devices. In fact, the company was one of the first polish companies to use that solution.
“We switched to DKV BOX EUROPE as it operates in our countries of interest, i.e. Belgium, Germany, Austria, France, Portugal and Spain. A plus is a wide acceptance network, including also Bulgaria, Poland, Switzerland, Italy and Hungary. Especially the last country is our very common destination. Till the last year, we used to pay manually in the Hungarian HU-GO system (the online service) which was not convenient at all. An even greater nuisance was the driver's obligation to follow a strictly defined route for which we paid. In case something wrong happened on the road, the driver could not change the previously designated route as it was punished with a high fine. Now, with DKV BOX EUROPE, there is no such threat. The solution is hassle-free and comfortable", says Jakub Wróblewski from INDEKA.
The most important reasons for ordering a few hundred toll boxes from DKV Mobility is convenience and savings. INDEKA drivers are also equipped with DKV cards, which helps optimize costs and minimize necessary work.
INDEKA uses a wide range of services offered by DKV Mobility. Their cars are moving every day, regularly refueling, paying road fees, parkings, etc. With such a large fleet, also the clearance methods from DKV Mobility are a great support: net invoicing, VAT refund, one invoice instead of many. The company also appreciates such online tools for fleet management, like DKV Maps for route planning and optimization, e-Reporting for detailed monitoring of current payments throughout Europe or the preparation of reports that can be integrated with any fleet management system.
Learn more about why INDEKA switched to EETS and which products support the company by Jakub Wróblewski from INDEKA that we met for an interview.
Mr. Wróblewski, you have ordered DKV BOX EUROPE for all your vehicles in international traffic. What made this happen?
First of all, convenience, because the driver has to control one device instead of three, and secondly, the announced expansion of the box to other countries. To a lesser extent, the saving of space on the car window was a decisive factor. From our perspective, the ability to pay tolls in many countries with one device is a milestone in company management. Thanks to the cooperation with DKV Mobility in the field of toll payment in Europe, we have all settlements in one place. We also save on resignation from the deposit for the device, and we do not have to freeze funds.
To what extent do the countries where the box operates overlap with the routes your vehicles travel?
We switched to DKV BOX EUROPE as it operates in our countries of interest, i.e. There are no such challenges with DKV BOX EUROPE. It is hassle-free and comfortable.
Have you ever swapped boxes between vehicles?
We did not have such need as the devices are connected straight to the strip in the car. We have, however, changed the registration numbers on the box in connection with registering new trucks.
Your company mainly travels to Western Europe, e.g. Spain, France or Belgium. How do you rate DKV BOX EUROPE in these countries?
Very good. Belgium, in particular, was troublesome before, due to the necessity to activate the toll box every time when entering this country. Unauthorized passage in Belgium is punished with a very high fine. A box running constantly eliminates this problem.
In France, Germany or Spain, I don't see much difference between the "old" DKV devices and DKV BOX EUROPE. We also use new boxes in Austria and Portugal. The solution works flawlessly anywhere we try it.
What is the difference between the EETS device and existing solutions?
First of all, DKV BOX EUROPE is universal. We easily cross borders of many countries with just one device in the car. Secondly, DKV offers a very simple billing system. We receive collective invoices for all paid roads. Not only is the information provided in a very transparent manner, but we can also save money, because we have the option of net invoicing. This means that we pay only the net amount at the beginning and that VAT is cleared by DKV for us. With our large fleet, this is a very noticeable difference. I would like to emphasize that we have been offered many solutions and we are constantly monitoring new products and market solutions in this area, however, at the moment, considering our many years of cooperation, we consciously choose DKV Mobility solutions.
What kind of work does the installation of the EETS box require?
At the beginning, the boxes should be configured by setting the appropriate number of axles and the weight of the set. You only need to do this once and the device is ready for installation.
How long did it take to install nearly 300 devices?
The process took about 2 months. This was due to the cycles of vehicles going to our base. When the car was ending up the route, we immediately handed over the configured new device. Our service team is able to install up to 12 devices a day. The assembly of one box takes about 40 minutes.
You’ve cooperated with DKV Mobility for over 20 years. An impressive period of time. Have you ever thought about changing the operator?
DKV Mobility has been with us almost from the very beginning. With such a large fleet, we did not think about changing the operator, although it is no secret that we also cooperate with other companies. Today, we have three card providers. Thanks to this, we have a comparison. DKV Mobility service is distinguished by multitasking and quality, reliability and an excellent contact with the client. Taking this opportunity, I would like to thank Agnieszka Kubaj-Kacprzyk, our advisor at DKV Mobility. I am very impressed with her approach to our company. Our long-term cooperation with DKV Mobility is based on full trust and transparency.
Which services do you most often use?
First of all, the settlement of tolls and refueling in Spain. We daily use nearly 300 DKV BOX EUROPE devices and a few additional boxes as backup - they are not assigned to any vehicle. The most important reasons for ordering such a large number of boxes were convenience and savings. We are very pleased at the moment. Of course, our drivers are also equipped with DKV fuel cards.
