Our commitment to embedding sustainable business practices

Sustainability has been an integral part of DKV Mobility’s long-standing history and culture and is also a central element of our corporate purpose "To drive the transition towards an efficient and sustainable future of mobility".

To create long-term value, we believe and share the conviction that we must take active responsibility for the social and environmental systems we operate in. Building upon our business strategy, we have set sustainability priorities that reflect our values in the areas where we think we can have an impact across the Environment (E), Social (S), and Governance (G) dimensions.

Environment

“To lead in green” is our commitment to be at the forefront of helping our customers switch to alternative energy sources. By providing our customers with sustainable products and services that enable them to manage the ongoing transition to low-carbon fuels and e-mobility more efficiently, we intend to play an active role in this process. With our “Green Pledge” we pursued two specific targets: By 2023, it was our aim to reduce our Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) by 50% compared to 2019. We are very proud that we were able to reach our climate target and – compared with our base year of 2019 – we cut GHG emissions by 50.4%. For the remaining CO2 emissions, we took responsibility by supporting Gold Standard climate protection projects.

Science Based Targets initiative DKV Mobility

In addition, it was our goal to help reduce the carbon intensity of our customers’ fleets by approximately 30% by 2030 as compared to 2019. We remain committed and aspire to be a force for positive change in transitioning to the new net-zero economy. In our continuous efforts to professionalize our sustainability management, in 2024, we set ourselves new science-based climate targets. Our new climate targets got validated by the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi). These targets replace our Green Pledge climate targets to align our company's climate strategy with what is required by science. We have committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across our value chain by 2050. And as part of our ongoing commitment to achieve our net-zero goal by that date, we have set near-term targets to reduce our emissions by 42% until 2030.

Social

“To be a great place to work” is our commitment to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion, talent management, and care for the communities in which we operate. Our people are the foundation of our success as a company. A highly committed workforce is essential to living up to our purpose and to delivering on the ambitious targets. We aspire to create an engaging environment for all colleagues, to attract, develop, and retain the best talents for DKV Mobility; and to ensure that this is done with diversity, inclusion, and equity in mind.

Governance

“To act responsibly” is our commitment to promote an environment of trust, transparency, and accountability in the interests of all stakeholders. By confirming our Code of Conduct (CoC), we want our employees, suppliers, and other business partners to comply with laws and regulations as well as our internal policies and ethical standards. We have implemented a risk management system, including systems particularly tailored to risks relating to information security and data protection, to timely and appropriately identify risks potentially affecting our business.

Sustainable products and services

Truck and fleet customers are faced with increasing complexity caused by changes in energy supply and regulations.

We play an active role in this process by offering our customers sustainable products and services.

As a driving force of change, we adapt the new energy supply to our customers' requirements and provide all the necessary products and services to make this transition as efficient and successful as possible.

Electric vehicles are crucial for decarbonizing road transport and achieving climate targets. We want to support our customers in accelerating the transition of their fleets to zero-emission vehicles. Our goal is to provide access to one of Europe's largest e-roaming networks for charging electric vehicles at public and semi-public charging stations and to offer our customers the best possible charging experience - regardless of where they prefer to charge: at work, at home or on the road.

Alternative fuels such as natural gas, biomethane or hydrogen are another important key to greater energy efficiency and climate protection in the transport sector. Our aim is to play a pioneering role in the use of alternative energy sources in road transport with the largest independent filling station network for alternative fuels in Europe.

Our aim is to enable drivers, dispatchers and fleet managers to manage their company fleets efficiently and operate them sustainably. To this end, we offer digital products and services that create transparency in real time and can optimize routes, for example. This not only saves costs but also reduces emissions in the long term.

It is our clear goal to offer our customers the most convenient toll solution for all vehicle types throughout Europe. Our toll boxes allow drivers to continue their journey without interruption, which eases traffic flow, reduces congestion and ultimately avoids climate-damaging emissions. With our "DKV Box Europe" toll box, we offer our customers the opportunity to pay tolls in numerous European countries with just one toll box.

It is one of our priorities and our responsibility to avoid and reduce CO₂ emissions wherever possible. However, for the vast majority of our customers, it is not yet possible to conduct their business effectively with fleets without combustion engines. In this case, voluntarily supporting climate protection projects is one way of contributing to climate protection. With our DKV Card CLIMATE, we give our customers access to high-quality and attractively priced climate protection projects. The "SDG Impact Reports" from myclimate, in which project progress is documented annually, can be accessed here.

Companies are increasingly under pressure to accurately measure, collect, and report their CO₂e emissions. In particular, the new CSRD reporting requirement (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) demands detailed insights into the CO₂e footprint—including across the entire supply chain. The DKV Mobility Carbon Monitor is the ideal solution for efficiently, precisely, and automatically monitoring and documenting your fleet’s CO₂e emissions.

With our CO₂e services, you gain a complete overview of emissions from all fuel types and charging processes—from fossil and alternative fuels to electric vehicles—and can easily export the data.

DKV NGO Card +Charge

The DKV Mobility NGO Card +Charge, is a service card for nonprofit organizations launched in Germany in 2021. In the years that followed, France, Hungary, and the Netherlands joined. The service card comes with no card or service fees and offers access to DKV Mobility’s full network of fuel service stations and EV charge points across Europe. On top, DKV Mobility covers all expenses for supporting climate protection projects for the carbon emissions according to the kilometers driven. The NGO Card +Charge is accessible for NGOs that depend on mobility to fulfill their mission. Apart from Germany and France, the service card is now also available in the Czech Republic, Italy, Poland, and Slovakia.
