Toll box for motorhomes: DKV Mobility cooperates with ADAC
Toll payment for motorhome travellers can be complex. This is because there are different tolling methods depending on the country of travel – for private individuals, these can be settled usually only via route-related ticket or country-specific toll boxes. To avoid this, DKV Mobility and ADAC are now offering a joint solution – where ADAC members and even non-member travellers will get access to the DKV BOX EUROPE for the travel season in 2022. The toll box, which can be used across countries, already accounts for thirteen European toll systems in ten countries – including Italy, Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Poland as well as the Warnow crossing in Rostock, the Herren Tunnel in Lübeck and the Liefkenshoektunnel in Belgium.
“We are pleased that we can now make the DKV BOX EUROPE accessible to private individuals, for the first time ever, through ADAC,” says Manuel von Mohrenschildt, Director Partner & Solution Sales at DKV Mobility. “As a passionate motorhome traveller myself, I can relate to the amount of time spent just to settle toll charges with cash or card at payment booths for my road trips. DKV BOX EUROPE settles country tolls without cash and in many places, drivers can use special lanes at toll payment points. This saves time and makes the trip more seamless and relaxing”.
Christoph Walter, Managing Director of ADAC, adds: “With this toll box, all owners of large motorhome will be able to travel freely through the tariff jungle of the toll networks of nine European countries outside Germany. Thanks to the digital solution for all systems, holiday makers will reach their destination faster and in a more relaxed manner – especially with full cost transparency in a single statement”.
