To use the freeways in the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark and Sweden, you need the Eurovignette for vehicles weighing 12 t or more, which is used to pay the toll. Buses are exempt from this regulation.

Toll provider: AGES

Important Notice: The Eurovignette is expected to be discontinued in the Netherlands as of July 1, 2026. It will be replaced by a new, distance-based toll system for heavy commercial vehicles.

From that date, an Eurovignette will no longer be required for truck journeys in the Netherlands.

The Eurovignette can be issued at service stations or border stations as well as directly at DKV for an individual period (from 7 days to 1 year). With the electronic Eurovignette, all necessary data (license plate number, country of registration, pollutant class, number of axles as well as the time period) are recorded electronically, the driver no longer needs paper certificates.
