DKV Mobility, a leading platform for international mobility services, now provides access to more than one million EV charge points across Europe, establishing one of the continent's largest charging networks. With a steadily growing acceptance network, DKV Mobility ensures convenient and seamless EV charging, offering near-complete coverage in Germany, France, and Italy, as well as along major European transport corridors. With over 789,000 charge cards in circulation and around 755 million kilowatt-hours of processed electricity via charging in 2024 – equivalent to around five billion kilometers driven – the DKV Mobility Group is underlining its role in the field of sustainable mobility.
“As a leading platform for sustainable mobility in Europe, our mission is to make EV charging as simple, efficient, and accessible as possible – today and in the future,” says Sven Mehringer, Managing Director at DKV Mobility responsible for Energy & Vehicle Services. “I’m proud that with one million charge points, we can now offer our customers access to one of the largest EV charging networks in Europe.”
DKV Mobility has been pursuing a clear e-mobility strategy for years. The company launched its first charging card, the DKV Card +Charge, back in 2015. At that time, the acceptance network included around 7,000 charge points and was managed by a small team of just two employees. Today, more than 300 employees are dedicated to e-mobility, continuously expanding the network. On average, around 8,000 new charge points have been added each month. In 2019, the offering was expanded to include @home and @work charging solutions, enabling customers to charge their vehicles at home and at the workplace. To date, DKV Mobility has installed over 10,000 wallboxes.
Another milestone followed in 2021 with the acquisition of Greenflux, a leading European provider of EV charging software. This acquisition enhanced DKV Mobility’s expertise in EV supply solutions and provided strong support for commercial fleet operators transitioning to more sustainable mobility models. At the end of 2024, DKV Mobility announced a strategic partnership with Aachen-based company Smartlab, a market leader in the aggregation, management, and billing of charging systems. As part of this partnership, DKV Mobility acquired a majority stake in Smartlab, further strengthening its position as a software-as-a-service platform provider in the e-mobility sector.
