Truck auf Autobahn mit Vignette von DKV Mobility

The Eurovignette is a user fee for motorways and certain motorways in some European countries. It facilitates both the purchase and the on-site inspection through electronic registration.

But what exactly is the Eurovignette, for which countries is it required and how can it be purchased?

What is the Eurovignette?

The Eurovignette is a road toll for all commercial vehicles and vehicle combinations with a gross vehicle weight of 12 tonnes or more travelling on the roads of Denmark, Luxembourg, the Netherlands or Sweden.

This fee serves as proof of a toll paid in advance and in most cases relates to lorries - as the Eurovignette does not apply to buses.

For which countries do you need a Eurovignette?

The Eurovignette is required in the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark and Sweden.

Important: On 1 January 2025, Denmark will switch to a different vehicle tax for heavy goods vehicles. This means that the Eurovignette will no longer be required in Denmark from this date.

How much does a Eurovignette cost? And where can I buy the Eurovignette?

You can easily book the Eurovignette via your customer account - click here to go directly to the DKV Cockpit .

A detailed overview of the Eurovignette fees can be found on the AGES fee table.

Changes to the Eurovignette from 2025

From 1 January 2025, the Eurovignette will only be valid for Sweden, the Netherlands and Luxembourg - no longer for Denmark.

In addition, from the end of March 2025, the vignette fee will no longer be calculated on the basis of the Euro emission class, but on the basis of the CO2 class and number of axles.

To order the Eurovignette, you need to specify the CO2 class. Before you order a vignette for your vehicle, you should therefore carry out a CO2 check. You can do this quickly and easily using the CO2 Class Check on our website.

Further questions about the Eurovignette

For the Eurovignette valid from the end of March 2025, the additional specification of the CO2 class of the respective vehicle is mandatory. Orders for Eurovignettes and/or the continuation of the DKV subscription service for the Eurovignette are not possible without specifying the CO2 class.

To determine the CO2 class, please use our CO2 Class Check at an early stage.

Please enter the CO2 class determined when ordering the Eurovignette in the DKV Customer Cockpit .

The Eurovignettes purchased in 2024 remain valid for the entire intended term, even without specifying a CO2 class. No new Eurovignette needs to be ordered for replacement.

Only after the expiry date does the next Eurovignette have to be ordered, stating the CO2 class.

All purchased Eurovignettes remain valid because they can still be used to drive in the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Sweden.

If a vignette has only been purchased for journeys in Denmark, a refund application can be submitted.

The CO2 class of the respective vehicle valid at the time of the order applies, even if the CO2 class should change due to the recalculation after 6 years during the validity of an annual vignette.

It is not necessary to exchange the Eurovignette.
