Science-based climate targets at DKV Mobility

DKV Mobility Science based climate target logo

The challenges of climate change require urgent and collective action. At DKV Mobility, we are fully committed to tackling this challenge in our sector and we are actively contributing to achieving the 1.5-degree target in line with the Paris Agreement.

Mobility as the backbone of the European economy is changing. And as a market leader and frontrunner in our industry, we recognize our responsibility to be a driving force behind this transformation.

To underline our ongoing commitment of our Lead in Green ambition and as part of our efforts to take active responsibility for our climate, we have set science-based targets aligned to the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) Net-Zero Standard.

DKV Mobility commits to reach Net-Zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2050. As part of our ongoing commitment towards reaching our net-zero goal by 2050, our near-term targets are to reduce our emissions by 42% until 2030.

How we achieve our targets

To achieve these ambitious SBTi targets, we are committed to reduce our emissions in our own business operations by reducing energy consumption, optimizations along the fuel value chain, and making our products more sustainable.

In line with our Purpose “To drive the transition towards an efficient and sustainable future of mobility”, we are not only looking at our own emissions but also play an active part in reducing the fossil fuel related emissions in our value chain and of our customers by offering them more sustainable products and services. As a leading platform of international mobility services, we adapt the new energy supply to our customers' requirements and provide all the necessary products and services to make also their transition as efficient and successful as possible.

When it comes to our own emissions, we have already made considerable progress in recent years. As part of our “Green Pledge”, in 2023 we were able to reduce our Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) by 50.4% compared with our base year of 2019.

We will continue this path and will transparently share our progress while we work on our decarbonization efforts.
